An encounter started on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) between militants and security forces in Kasaliyan area of Poonch district.
Officials said two suspicious individuals were spotted and chased by a team of Police and security.
A cordon and search operation is on in Kasaliyan.
The hiding militants fired upon the joint party and the fire was retaliated.

The Army said a firefight is on in the area.
The fresh encounter came just two days after the security forces killed three terrorists responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack in April this year, which left 26 civilians dead.
