TVK chief Vijay condemns detention of Opposition MPs in Delhi

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay on Monday (August 11, 2025) condemned the detention of MPs from the Opposition parties as they were marching from Parliament House to the Election Commission of India (ECI) headquarters in New Delhi.

In a post on X, he said the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, led the protest march against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, and seeking free and fair elections. Mr. Vijay also reiterated his party’s stance of advocating for free and fair elections to safeguard democracy, and said that this must be ensured.
