In a bid to secure greater data centre capacity, Anthropic is in early-stage discussions to lease up to 1 gigawatt from Stream Data Centers, according to a report from The Information outlet.
The developer is majority-owned by Apollo Global Management.
The outlet previously reported in June that Anthropic had signed over 12 preliminary agreements to this end, in order to lease U.S. data centres with a combined capacity of more than 1 GW.
The Claude-maker was also reportedly looking to obtain financial backing from Google, in order to cover the lease payments.
Anthropic has not yet confirmed or denied the report.
