A man and a woman were found dead at the Regala Resort in Bibinagar, where they had checked in on June 27. The bodies were discovered by resort staff on Saturday morning, said the Bibinagar police.

The deceased have been identified as Bandha Bala Sudhakar, 39, an employee of PCI Pest Control Pvt Ltd and a resident of KCR Nagar, Ramanthapur, and Pasala Sushmila, 35, a private employee from Gandhi Nagar, Ramanthapur, Uppal.

According to an officer from the Bibinagar police, the two were childhood friends and had recently been facing personal issues. “Both of their partners reportedly suspected them of being in an affair, which had led to tensions,” said the officer.

Initial investigations suggest that the pair consumed a toxic substance. Police believe this was a planned act, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Bibinagar police have registered a case and are continuing inquiries, including recording statements from family members and the resort staff.
