Release date announcement poster of ‘Maareesan’

The makers of the upcoming Tamil film, Maareesan, starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu, announced on Saturday (July 5) that the film will be released in theatres on July 25. Written by V Krishna Moorthy and directed by Sudheesh Sankar, the film marks a reunion between Fahadh and Vadivelu after their acclaimed 2023 film Maamannan.
A new poster was unveiled to announce the release date of Maareesan, which will now clash with Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, at the box office.
Details regarding the plot of Maareesan remain unknown. A recently released teaser showed glimpses of a breezy, feel-good road film that ends up becoming a thriller story.
The film features Vivek Prasanna, Kovai Sarala and PL Thenappan playing pivotal roles. Sithara, Livingston, Renuka, Saravana Subbiah, Krishna, Haritha, and Telephone Raja are also part of the cast.
With music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film has cinematography by Kalaiselvan Sivaji and editing by Sreejith Sarang. RB Choudary produces the film under his Super Good Films banner.
