Madurai City Police have installed seven Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras at different locations in Madurai South Police District.
Commissioner of Police J. Loganathan inaugurated the cameras that could capture the details of number plates of moving vehicles with clarity. These cameras could be used for crime detection and prevention. The advanced cameras could alert the police on detecting movement of vehicles with specific details.
Deputy Commissioner of Police A.G. Inigo Thivyan, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Thilagar Thidal) Ganesan and Inspector of Police (S.S. Colony) Kasi were present.
