A child gets kidnapped. Personal photos of an ex-lover are used as leverage. A man struggles to see right from wrong. The trailer of the upcoming Tamil action thriller, Blackmail, starring GV Prakash Kumar, was unveiled by the makers on Saturday (July 19). The film, directed by Mu Maran (Iravukku Aayiram Kangal, Kannai Nambathey), is set to release in theatres on August 1.
Promising to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller, the trailer hints at a story revolving around a young man (Prakash) who is forced to take an odd job to meet his financial requirements. The child of a young couple (played by Srikanth and Bindu Madhavi) needs to be nabbed. The problem? There’s something fishy about the whole deal, and as expected, he gets pulled into a quagmire. The hunted now turns into the hunter, and dark secrets get unraveled.
Featuring Teju Ashwini as the female lead, Blackmail also features Ramesh Thilak, Redin Kingsley, Hari Priya, Linga, Vettai Muthukumar, Shaji Chen, Redin Kingsley and Girija Hari in pivotal roles.
With music scored by Sam CS, the film has cinematography by Gokul Benoy and editing by San Lokesh. SJ Ram has served as the art director. Blackmail is produced by A Deivakani under his JDS Film Factory banner.
