HYDERABAD

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC Dasoju Sravan on Sunday accused the Congress government in Telangana of incompetence and poor governance, citing the latest Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report for the first quarter of 2025-26.

According to the report, the State’s own tax revenue remains stuck at 16.2% of the annual target, while non-tax revenue is hovering at a mere 3.37%. In the same three-month period, borrowings have already reached 37.5% of the annual limit.

Mr. Sravan, in a statement on Sunday, described the figures as a “glaring sign of administrative collapse” and held Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and his Cabinet responsible for the “economic mess”.

He alleged that instead of focusing on wealth creation, attracting investments and driving economic growth, the Chief Minister is “consumed by vengeful petty politics” against BRS leaders, including party president K. Chandrasekhar Rao and working president K.T. Rama Rao. By prioritising political vendetta over development, he said, the government was dragging Telangana backwards and betraying the people who voted for the Congress on the promise of “change” and “people’s governance”.

Terming the CAG’s quarterly report an official warning, the BRS leader said the people of Telangana have every right to question how the government plans to bridge the fiscal deficit and fulfil its host of poll promises and grand declarations.
