Chess contest held to mark Iyyanki’s birth anniversary

To commemorate the 135th birth anniversary of Iyyanki Venkata Ramanayya, considered the architect of the Indian public library movement the Saraswati Samrajyam and Krishna District Library Association jointly organised a chess competition at the Tagore Library in Vijayawada on Thursday. Around 160 players participated in the event. The competition was sponsored by Iyyanki Murali Krishna. Public Libraries, A.P., Director A. Krishna Mohan attended the event as the chief guest.
