Decision on naming directors of boards and corporations on July 16: Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said a final decision on appointing directors and members to State boards and corporations would be taken on July 16 in Bengaluru.

In 2023 and 2024, the government appointed 42 legislators as chairpersons of various boards and corporations. But the appointment of directors to boards and corporations has been delayed following the rejection of names given by a panel that identified leaders to the posts.

Mr. Siddaramaiah told reporters that All India Congress Committee general secretary and Karnataka in charge Randeep Singh Surjewala is scheduled to visit Bengaluru on July 16 for further discussions before finalising the names.

The first round of discussions with Mr. Surjewala was held on July 10. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar was also present at the meeting. “Mr. Surjewala is coming to Bengaluru on July 16, then we are going to finalise the list,” Mr. Siddaramaiah said before leaving the national capital.
