Two-time World champion and home favourite Nikhat Zareen defeated V. Lakshaya 5-0 to make it to the final in the 51kg category in the Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament at the Saroornagar Indoor Stadium on Sunday. She is set to take on Jyoti for the title.
Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain secured a first-round stoppage (RSC) win against Sneha to cruise into the 75kg final. Meanwhile, World championships and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Nitu Ghanghas defeated Manju Rani to enter the 48kg final at the Elite Women’s Boxing Tournament on Monday, setting up a title clash with Chanchal.
World champion Saweety Boora outclassed Babita Bisht 5-0 to make it to the 80kg final, while former youth World champion Ankushita Boro set up a summit clash with Shashi in the 65kg division after beating Amita Kundu by the same scoreline.
