Transport and Muzrai Minister Ramalinga Reddy has approved a comprehensive master plan for the development of Sri Kukke Subrahmanya Swamy Temple in Dakshina Kannada district, which is the State’s highest revenue-generating temple managed by the Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Department.
During a review meeting of the temple’s Master Plan Supervision and Management Committee, a presentation was made showcasing the facilities proposed under phase three of the master plan. The Minister and other committee members provided inputs to be incorporated in the upcoming works.
Key highlights of the approved projects include the construction of a new Ashlesha Bali Puja Mandira in the Tulsi Garden. Additionally, plans were cleared for building a well-equipped Annadasoha Bhavan to serve meals to around 5,000 devotees daily.
“To meet growing demand, a new Sarpasamskara Yagya Hall will be built near the existing Adi Subrahmanya Hall, enabling 20 separate rituals simultaneously. The temple will also see the addition of 896 residential rooms across four blocks, along with cafeteria facilities, and a dormitory building for pilgrims and student groups,” Mr. Reddy said.
“Modern sanitation infrastructure is planned with toilet blocks on all four sides of the temple, and a solid waste disposal unit will be set up to address environmental concerns. Staff quarters, a commercial complex, and executive suites are also in the pipeline,” he added.
