GATE 2026
IIT Guwahati will be the organising institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026, which will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026. The Engineering Sciences paper will have a new section on Energy Science. The exam will be conducted in English only.
Eligibility: Those in the third or higher years of an UG degree programme or have completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Arts and Humanities.

TVS Indus Design Honours
The TVS Motor Company has launched the ‘TVS Indus’ Design Honours, a new annual challenge to nurture design talent and redefine the future of mobility by tapping into blend India’s rich design heritage. The 2025 edition is theme-based and draws inspiration from four distinctive regions: Thar, Sahyadri, Kutch, and Mumbai. Participants must propose mobility concepts spanning mono-wheel, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler formats, while incorporating environmental, social, and cultural relevance. Registration is free.

The Ashok Malhotra Charitable Trust (MBD Group) launched Robotics Lab on Wheels, a new initiative to provide robotics and STEM education to students in budget schools in urban and rural India. School principals and students were given a first-hand experience of the van-mounted mobile lab, which is equipped with Arduino boards, sensors, motors, and robotics kits.

Team Finavat from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, won the national cyber hackathon organised by Canara Bank, under the guidance of the Department of Financial Services and Indian Banks’ Association. Team Pindrop from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune, came second while Team Jigyasa fromIIIT Kottayam, came third.
Greenwood High hosted the Fr. George Hess Memorial Literary Competitions 2025. Students from the school won at various events. Aditi Kumar(Class 12) won first place in Creative Writing, Nirmanyu Kishore and Abhay Rao (Class 12) won first place in Quiz and Vivaan Kohli (Class 7) and Aarnish Padhy (Class 8) were second. Team Technopaths (Advithiya Duddu, Aditya Jemshetty, Rushil Bakori) from Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru came first in HackSky 2025, a national cybersecurity hackathon organised by Manipal Institute of Technology Bengaluru campus in partnership with Kaspersky. Team PowerRangers from Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute and Team Ghost Protocol from Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering were second and third respectively.
