Admissions and scholarships

Atypical Advantage has launched Atypical Academy, a learning platform designed by and for people with disabilities. It offers CUET and IIT JEE coaching, English literacy courses for deaf learners, MS Office training for visually-impaired students, and several other skill-building programmes. Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science has opened 2026–2027 admissions. Applications for the HITSEEE 2026 engineering entrance exam are now open to Indian and international students, with a deadline of April 22. The University of Chicago’s Physical Sciences Division, invites application to its MS in Applied Data Science programme.

Eligibility: Candidates with a UG degree in any course can apply; TOEFL iBT (minimum 102) or IELTS (minimum 7.0) if waiver criteria are not met.

The University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, invites applications for its MSc Advanced Biochemistry course starting in September 2026.

Eligibility: Minimum second-class Honours degree or international equivalent in a biological or chemical discipline. Minimum score of IELTS 6.0 (with no component below 5.5).

Scholarship: The Faculty of Science International Excellence Scholarship, valued between £7,000 and £8,000, is available for September 2026 entry to students applying for this programme.

The Institute of Bakery and Culinary Arts has announced scholarships worth ₹1,00,000 to empower aspiring chefs across the country. The amounts range from ₹25,000 to ₹1,00,000, depending on the course structure and eligibility.

Courses: 18-month Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts (Level 3), an 18-month Advanced Diploma in Pastry (Level 3), a 12-month Diploma in Culinary Arts (Level 2), a 12-month Diploma in Pastry Arts (Level 2), a four-month Certificate Course in Pastry (Level 1), as well as specialised Culinary and Pastry Hobby courses.

Sahay AI team from Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, Puducherry, won first prize in Silver Spark 2025, the ideathon organised by Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University and hosted byAarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, while the first runner-up was team Blink X Innovators from School of Allied Health Sciences, VIMS, Salem.

Asha Thomas, HoD, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, with co-investigators Sanjeevani Deshkar, HOD, Pharmaceutics, and Vinita Patole, from Dnyaan Prasad Global University School of Pharmacy and Research by Dr. D.Y. Patil Unitech Society, secured an ICMR Intermediate Grant worth over ₹1 crore for developing a collagen–elastin scaffold with chicken-derived skin oil to accelerate healing in chronic diabetic wounds.

The Indian Debating League (IDL) 5.0 concluded its annual edition season at IIT Delhi. Team Tamil Nadu comprising students from KC High, NASR, were declared winners in the Seniors (class 9 to 12) category, while Team Haryana, comprising students from HIXS, The Shriram School, Pathways School Gurugram, won in the Middle (class 6 to 8) category.

Six Rhodes Scholars-Elect for India 2026 were selected. They include Manhar Bansal, a final year UG student at the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru; Yogita, a 2025 Master’s in Chemistry graduate from Université Paris-Saclay and Adam Mickiewicz University; Nikhita Sampath, a B.A., LL.B. from St. Joseph’s College of Law, Bengaluru; Taif Altaf, pursuing a PG diploma as part of the Young India Fellowship programme, Ashoka University; Suprabath Reddy Dwaram, an MS in Quantitative Economics graduate from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, and Aniketa Kabir, a 2025 B.A. in History graduate from Azim Premji University.

ESCP Business School ranked four in Financial Times European Business School 2025 ranking, while its MBA programme ranked #10, and EMBA ranked #1 in Europe respectively.

Abhishek Dhanda, Prabhkirat Singh, and Rachita Chandok, class 12 students from B. C. M. Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Ludhiana, were declared one among the four national winners of the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2025. They were recognised for Prithvi Rakshak, their smart, modular vermicomposting system.

Rishihood University’s School of Entrepreneurship (SoEN) organised a Health Hackathon on Social Entrepreneurship at its campus. Out of the 10 teams from the university’s Mahesh Navani School of Brain, Body, and Behaviour, School of Design, Rashtram School of Public Leadership, and the SoEN which participated, Team Air Sanjeevani was declared the winner. SoEN also conducted a credit course for learners as under the mentorship of Prof. Jonathan Fleming from MIT Sloan School of Management and Prof. Vasudev Murthy, Executive Director, SoEN.

MoUs and partnerships

SRM University-AP signed a MoU with Callus Company, to introduce its SPRINT Programme, for SRM-AP students.  

The University of Glasgow and UPES signed an MoA which allows students to complete the first two years in India and the final two years in the U.K. for their Bachelor’s degree.

Shiv Nadar University and Trinity Laban, London, launched Satyam Kalon, an interdisciplinary arts project with India, U.K., and U.S. institutions, featuring seminars, workshops, and events to train scholars for careers in the arts and creative professions.

IIM Visakhapatnam partnered with Imarticus School of Finance and Business to offer academic immersion programmes for UG and PG students, including bootcamps, applied learning, case-based sessions, and management exposure.

The Tata Trusts signed an MoU with the University of Mumbai to restore and upgrade the Sir Cowasji Jehangir Convocation Hall, a heritage building on the university’s Fort campus.
