Cybersecurity contest and conference

UST will host a Capture the Flag contest as part of its virtual cybersecurity conference, GenCyS 2025, to be held on August 23 and 24. The contest is designed to challenge and identify top cybersecurity talent across India.

Pre-Departure Event Series 2025

Events

IIHMR University welcomed a new batch of 19 scholars from across six states for its Ph.D. programme. The scholars work with globally recognised organisations such as the World Bank, UNICEF, HCL Foundation, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, among others.

IIM Sambalpur welcomed 363 students across its MBA Business Analytics and MBA programmes. V. Srinivas, Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, was the chief guest.

IIM Rohtak hosted an orientation for 329 students of its Post Graduate Programme. Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, was the chief guest.

IIM Kashipur welcomed a new cohort of 433 students across its MBA, MBA Analytics and Ph.D. programmes. Jitendra Gohil, Chief Investment Strategist at Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited, and Nitin Madan, Managing Director & CFO of Barclays GCC India, engaged with the cohort. An exclusive session an exclusive session featuring Anuradha Basu, Director of the Silicon Valley Center for Entrepreneurship, and Gurmeet Naroola, Adjunct Professor, at San Jose State University, California, the U.S., was also part of the programme.

Winmore Academy, Bengaluru, inaugurated a school-based moot courtroom for an immersive extension of the CBSE Legal Studies curriculum for classes 11 and 12 and to simulate courtroom dynamics.

ITM Skills University’s School of FutureTech organised a hands-on, brand-based web development challenge in which students developed real market-worthy digital solutions for brands. 

AAFT School of Fine Arts has appointed contemporary artist George Martin as its Industry Dean.

Badruka School of Management, Hyderabad, has appointed S. Arunachalam as its new Dean. He was formerly a faculty member at the Indian School of Business.

Sanjay Ghodawat International School, Pune, hosted an in-person AFS Global STEM Innovators Conference on the theme Be the Voice for a Better Tomorrow. Over 100 students from 15 schools across India participated.

Noida International University hosted an Educators’ meet in Kanpur to celebrate educators. Col. Zahid Siddiqui, Director General, Axis Colleges, Kanpur, was the chief guest.

The Cambridge Schools in Delhi-NCR organised a summer internship programme for students of classes 11 and 12 in collaboration with nine organisations across different sectors including litigation, human rights, psychology, career counselling, and more. 

NIIT Foundation, in collaboration with YuWaah, UNICEF, has launched an Open Online Course in Digital Marketing under the campaign banner #NayiDigitalDisha. Participants will receive an NCVET-assessed and NSDC-certified credential.

Anshika Mangla, a student of Istituto Marangoni Mumbai, showcased her creation Binnai Lamp at the Milano Design Week 2025. 

Medicaps University has launched the Medicaps Innovation and Incubation Foundation (MII Foundation). It is a full-scale startup incubator designed to support and scale early-stage ventures. It offers a platform for startups, providing everything from expert mentoring and access to funding, to advanced infrastructure and global industry connections.

Over 800 employees of Avanse Financial Services came together at the Annual Business Meet 2025 and assembled 90 bicycles for underprivileged students in Goa aged 12 to 14 years. This was done in collaboration with the Goa Livelihoods Forum.

Lovely Professional University awarded scholarships worth over ₹100 crore to the batch of 2025. Over 3,000 students had up to 70% of their programme fee waived, and nearly 1,000 scholarship recipients were felicitated for their merit and performance. Vyomika Singh, Wing Commander, Indian Air Force, was the chief guest.

Awards 

IIM Jammu received international accreditations — BGA and EFMD — for its MBA programme. 

SVKM’s NMIMS Deemed-to-be University was awarded the highest A++ Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Professor Subhabrata Sen from the School of Natural Sciences at Shiv Nadar University, Delhi NCR, and his team were awarded the 2025 Horizon Prize by the Royal Society of Chemistry for their Alternate Electrode Electrolysis strategy. 

State Bank of India declared the winners of the SBI Scholar Quiz. Students from Delhi Public School, Kolkata; Army Public School, Hyderabad and DAV Public School, Bhubaneswar, were awarded prizes. Over 4,200 students across 16 cities participated.

Kanak Talware, a third-year B.Tech student from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College, MGM University, was awarded a design patent by the Government of India for his work on developing a Bioethanol Production System from Sugarcane Juice. The research was carried out under the mentorship of Ravindra Gaikwad and Akash Vani from MGM University, along with Annasaheb Varade and Ravindra Nibe from Pravara Rural Engineering College, Loni.

The National Institute of Securities Markets, in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India, recently held the National Financial Literacy Quiz 2025. In the UG category, IIM Bodhgaya came first followed by IIT (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, and Goenka College of Commerce and Business Administration, Kolkata. In the PG category, IIM Calcutta secured first place followed by St. Xaviers College (Autonomous), Kolkata, and Xavier Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. The final round of the quiz will be held on November 8 and 9.

Partnerships

XLRI Jamshedpur signed an MoU with Accenture to foster and strengthen collaboration between academia and industry.

IIT Roorkee signed an MoU with the Central Electricity Authority to promote collaboration in research, planning, innovation, and capacity-building in the Indian power sector.

BITS Pilani signed an MoU with IISc Bengaluru to advance academic and research collaborations, facilitate knowledge sharing, and develop advancements in science and technology. 

Sanskriti University signed an MoU with EC-Council University, the U.S., to strengthen academic cooperation, facilitate faculty and student exchange, and introduce globally-recognised cybersecurity programmes at the institution.

The University of Leeds has signed six MoUs with academic institutions such as Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research, IIT Roorkee, Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, BITS Pilani, the Regional Centre for Biotechnology, and the University of Delhi to foster engagement in collaborative research, academic exchange, and capacity building.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Tiruchi, signed an MoU with Dassault Systèmes to foster a collaborative ecosystem that promotes engineering innovation, skill development, startup incubation, and local research.

Ashoka University will collaborate with the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, DAE, to advance interdisciplinary collaboration and will serve as a platform for hosting scientific conferences and workshops through an open call and proposal system. 

Pearl Academy’s School of Business and EY India have partnered to launch an MBA focused on the application of AI in business, which will include AI concepts, live case studies, and real-world projects.
