IIIT-Bangalore hosted the ninth RISE (Research, Innovation, Society and Entrepreneurship) Open House. Anand Rangarajan, Vice President-Engineering, Google DeepMind, was the keynote speaker.

IIT-Roorkee inaugurated the Ashok Soota Molecular Medicine Facility to advance drug discovery, biomolecular research, and next-generation diagnostic tools.

Manipal Institute of Technology concluded a five-day Advanced Bootcamp on Controlled Penetration Testing, to mark the final phase of Pentathon 2026, a national cybersecurity initiative jointly organised by the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) and the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) .

SGT College of Pharmacy and the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research at SGT University, hosted Pharma Anveshan 2026 on the theme Future Pharma Ecosystem: Fostering Synergy among Academia, Industry, Research, Regulatory and Practice. Montu Kumar M. Patel, President of Pharmacy Council of India, was the chief guest.

C Com Digital launched an AI education drive at SRM College and PBVM College, offering tool demos, curriculum sessions, faculty training, and internship opportunities.

IISc’s Centre for Nano Science and Engineering and Groww Foundation have launched the Groww Foundation-CeNSE Semiconductor Skill Development Programme to train students in semiconductor science and technology. The programme includes Akanksha STEM for Girls; Women in STEM Research Experience Programme, and Research Internship Programme.

Aahwahan Foundation and Nokia inaugurated model Physics, Chemistry, and Biology labs at Government PU College, Bengaluru. This will help over 2,000 underprivileged students with hands-on STEM learning.

XLRI Delhi-NCR concluded EvolvX 2026, its annual startup conclave organised jointly by the PGDM-Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development programme and E-Cell XLRI Delhi. Sabeer Bhatia, co-founder of Hotmail; Anubhav Dubey, co-founder of Chai Sutta Bar; Anooja Bashir, co-founder of FlexiCloud and Quroa; Kshitij Rishi, COO of 4basecare; and Vijay Pratap Singh, founder of Ekgaon interacted with the students.

India Market Entry has launched AV1, a telepresence robot that helps students who are temporarily or for longer periods unable to attend school remain connected with their classrooms and peers. Using a smartphone or tablet, the student can see and hear everything happening in the classroom in real time, allowing them to follow lessons and stay connected with teachers and classmates even when they cannot be physically present. 

GCC School, KC GlobEd and The Society for Human Resource Management hosted a roundtable on Future Proof Workforce: The New GCC Talent Imperative. Participants included senior leaders from Sunlife, Accenture, EXL, JC Bhalla, Genpact, Infosys, and HP.

O.P. Jindal Global University and National Law University Delhi held a seminar on Delivering Justice in Time: Global Practices and Indian Experiences. Rajya Sabha MP and senior advocate Abhishek M. Singhvi delivered the keynote address. R. Venkataramani, Attorney General of India, gave the inaugural address.

Mohan Babu University celebrated its 34th annual day, featuring cultural performances and awarding gold medals to top students in Computing, Engineering, Healthcare, and Nursing.

FLAME University hosted the second FLAME Undergraduate Research Day 2026 on Reimagining Futures: Research in an Age of Opportunities with 107 student presentations. Participants came from across the country, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Delhi-NCR. 

The Computer Science Department of the Central University of Tamil Nadu, along with IITM C-DOT Samgnya Technologies Foundation, hosted a five-day National Workshop on Quantum Computing and Security. The workshop attracted more than 100 applications, with 72 registrations from 24 educational institutions from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Puducherry. 

Target Learning Ventures has launched Tayari Entrance by Target, a mobile app for NEET, JEE, and MHT-CET prep that offers custom tests, past question papers, and an error-analysis tool. The app is available on iOS and Android.

The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department of Noida International Institute of Medical Sciences hosted a seminar on Recent Advances in Perinatal Diagnosis and Therapy. Dr. Seema Thakur, Director of the Genetic Clinic at Fortis Hospital, delivered the keynote address.

BITS-Pilani has received ₹2.5 crore from alumnus Agendra Kumar, MD of Esri India, to create the Agendra Kumar Fellowships Fund to support 10 Ph.D. scholars over 10 years.

The Mechanical Engineering Department of SRMIST, Chennai, hosted the sixth ICAME-2026, in partnership with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture from the University of Split, Croatia. Muthu Kumaran Pitchai, Director of India Operations at Rockwell Automation India, was the chief guest. Shankar Venugopal, Vice President of Mahindra Research Valley, was the guest of honour.

Unstop released the Unstop Talent Report 2026: Era of Human + AI: Decoding India’s Talent Landscape revealed that as 74% of B-School students and 85% of Engineering students in the 2026 graduating class remain unplaced. UG students face the steepest challenge, with 84% unplaced and the highest offer disruption rate of 17%. Nearly 95% of students said they were open to off-campus opportunities if better roles are available. Also thought 78% of organisations run internship programmes, only 16% convert more than 80% of interns into full-time hires.

Avinash College of Commerce hosted PRARAMBH 2K26 at its Secunderabad branch. Around 600 students from 50 colleges participated across various events.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court and Chandigarh University hosted a panel on Rise of the Powerful Repeat Player in Civil Litigation: Corporates, Governments and Institutions vs One-Time Litigants. Speakers included Lakhvir Singh, Solicitor at Alexander & Co Solicitors LLP, Nottingham (the U.K.); Gurprit Mattu, Commercial Litigation Barrister and Mediator, London; Manish Jain, Senior Advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court; Aman Pal, Senior Advocate at the Punjab and Haryana High Court; and Prof. Ashutosh Hajela, Executive Director, University Institute Legal Studies (UILS). The panel was moderated by Amanat Kahlon, Assistant Professor, University Institute Legal Studies (UILS). 

Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation Deemed to-be University, celebrated its annual day. Joshua David, India Campus Head, Mphasis, was the chief guest.

Noida International University organised an Educators’ Felicitation Ceremony 2026 to recognise the contribution of teachers.

IIIT-Delhi secured an Indo-Swedish research grant under the Department of Biotechnology–Vinnova collaborative programme to develop peptide therapeutics against pneumonia-causing pathogens with experimental validation. It was also granted a patent by the Indian Patent Office for its invention A System with Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface for Wireless Communication and a Method of Operation Thereof.

The Nanotechnology Research Centre (NRC), SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), hosted the second International Conference on Advanced Functional Materials and Devices (AFMD 2026) and also presented the Dr. T.R. Paarivendhar AFMD Awards. The awardees included Prof. S. Balakumar from University of Madras; Prof. Ramaswamy Murugavel from IIT Mumbai; Prof. Srinivasan Natarajan from IISc-Bengaluru; Prof. Judy Z. Wu from the University of Kansas, the U.S.;  Prof. Kanishka Biswas from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bengaluru; and Prof. Naoki Wakiya and Prof. Yoshimasa Kawata, Shizuoka University, Japan. R. Balamuralikrishnan, Director, Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory (DMRL), DRDO, was the chief guest. Krishnan Sadagopan, Senior Vice President-R&D, Ashok Leyland, Chennai, was the guest of honour.

Awards

Saveetha School of Law won the eighth Thiru. Isari Velan Memorial Moot Court Competition 2026 hosted by the School of Law at Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies. Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College was the runner-up.

Sri Sai Ram Institute of Technology won the INCEPTRIX Hackathon 2.0, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of JAIN Deemed-to-be University. JAIN Kanakapura and Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, were the runners-up.

Gujarat Technological University won Meraki 2026 the international business plan competition hosted by Fortune Institute of International Business. KCG College of Technology, Chennai, and Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi, were the runners-up.

LNM Institute of Information Technology won the fifth edition of HackJKLU v5.0, a national hackathon hosted by JK Lakshmipat University. Team Octane from JKLU and Team Neuronest from Arya College were the runners-up. 

KL Deemed to be University was conferred the Leading Wastewater Treatment and Management Model Award by the India Water Foundation for its technology-driven water sustainability initiatives.

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology won the 14th Ingenium, Quest Global’s engineering competition, with PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research as second runner-up followed by New Horizon College of Engineering.

Pro Vice-Chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Bengaluru, was ranked No. 1 in India in the 2025 Accounting Research Rankings released by Brigham Young University, the U.S.

Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital was recognised as one of the four best-performing medical education institutions in the country for its month-long campaign on hypertension awareness by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

Gautam Mahesh, Rachvik Arora, Youbin Duan and Aarush Mandala, IBDP Year 1 students of Greenwood High International School, Sarjapur, won the gold medal at the IRIS National Fair 2025–26 for their research projects in medical diagnostics and advanced imaging. 

Galgotias University was awarded ₹4,200,000 from the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH-IoT) of IIT-Bombay for its Development of Intelligent Ripening Detector for Mango and Watermelon project.

The University of Sheffield, the U.K., was ranked 46th most international university in the world and 16th in the U.K. by the Times Higher Education
