More than ten commuters were injured after a private transport bus hit the rear side of a private college bus near Katpadi in Vellore on Friday.
Police said that the incident took place around 1.30 a.m. when bus driver S. Kumar (24) lost control of the vehicle. The bus was bound to Vellore’s Old Town from Gudiyatham. Around 20 commuters including women passengers were on board.
In the impact, windshields of both the buses were damaged. Commuters and bus crew sustained minor injuries. Immediately, other motorists rescued the commuters. They also alerted the Katpadi police, who came to the spot. Injured persons were treated at the primary health care centre in Katpadi. A probe is underway.
