Redhills Police have arrested a 53-year-old pastor on charges of sexually assaulting five minor girls, aged between 10 and 11, over the past few months.
The arrested man has been identified as Kamaraj alias Victor, of Red Hills, who runs a prayer house in his neighbourhood. Police sources said that for the past several months, his wife had been conducting tuition classes for children from the locality, and more than 10 students were visiting their house in the evenings daily.
Under the pretext of helping his wife, Victor would take the girls to another room and sexually assault them, the police said. On Wednesday (July 30,2025), one of the girls told her parents about this, and they lodged a police complaint.
Based on the statement from the girls, the police registered a case under the POCSO Act. On Thursday (July 31), Victor was arrested and sent on judicial remand.
