A terrorist was killed in an ongoing anti-terror operation of security forces in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday (August 2, 2025).
“Intermittent and intense fire fight continued through the night. Alert troops responded with calibrated fire and tightened the nooze while maintaining contact. One terrorist has been neutralised by the security forces so far. Operation continues,” Army’s Chinar Corps said in a post on X.
Security forces on Friday (August 1, 2025) evening engaged a group of hiding terrorists in a firefight in the jungles of south Kashmir’s Kulgam.
“An encounter has started at Akhal area of Kulgam (in south Kashmir). The police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), Army and CRPF are on job,” a police spokesman said.
This is the third encounter in J&K this week. Six terrorists were left killed in these encounters, including all the three involved in the Pahalgam terror attack.
