Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation Amit Shah has a number of programmes lined up in the State for Saturday.
Mr. Shah will inaugurate the new State office building of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Thiruvananthapuram at 11 a.m. on Saturday. He will hoist a flag and plant a tree on the office compound. Mr. Shah will also unveil a bust of former BJP president K.G. Marar.
At 11.30 a.m., he will address a ward-level leadership meet of the BJP, ahead of the upcoming local body elections in Kerala later this year. Around 36,000 leaders from Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha are expected to attend the event. Ward, panchayat and district-level leaders from other districts will attend the event online.
Mr. Shah will attend a meeting of the State leaders of the party at 2 p.m. where the arrangements for the upcoming local body polls will be discussed. He will leave for Taliparamba, Kannur, for offering darshan at the Rajarajeswara Temple. Mr. Shah will leave for New Delhi at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
