Oppo has unveiled its new operating skin, ColorOS 17, which will make its India debut with launch of Find X10 series on October 22 and gradually rolling out to other Oppo devices. The Chinese smartphone maker has said that ColorOS 17, which is based on Android 17, will bring more customisation and AI features.
The Oppo Find X10 series will feature Find X10 Pro Max and Find X10. They will have Hasselblad-tuned camera system, flat LTPO displays with refresh rates of up to 144 Hz and IP66, IP68 and IP69 ratings.
The Find X10 Pro Max will have a 6.78-inch display while the Find X10 features a 6.59-inch screen. The displays claim up to 2,000 nits of global peak brightness and up to 3,600 nits of local peak brightness.
With ColorOS 17, AI Mind Pilot introduces a new Agent Mode that can work directly with photos and files stored on the device, search across multiple sources, use the appropriate tools and coordinate multiple steps to complete tasks based on the user’s request.
With ColorOS 17, users can now save documents and video links, with AI recognising their content and turning it into structured, searchable personal memories. Memory Collections automatically organises related memories into collections and summaries.
AI Mind Suggest will provide a morning brief and timely travel reminders to flight information. It can also recommend music on Spotify when headphones are connected.
The OSee will now understand objects and scenes in view and connect users to services such as object recognition, knowledge lookup, nutrition analysis, high-definition scanning and translation. Instead of choosing between multiple separate tools, users can go directly from what they see to the service they need.
On privacy, Oppo said that its Private Computing Cloud protects data used for cloud-based AI processing with end-to-end encryption and processes it within a secure environment designed to prevent access by third parties, including Oppo.
ColorOS 17 claims to further strengthen data transmission security with a post-quantum security capabilities in PCC. When data is transmitted between the device and the cloud, a dual-encryption mechanism helps protect information against emerging threats posed by quantum computing.
The Transparency Report in ColorOS 17 will give users visibility into how their data is processed, including which AI services have been used, when they were accessed and what operations were performed. Users can view the report directly on their device and export it whenever needed.
ColorOS 17’s new AI Call Guard will monitor calls in real time for emerging fraud risks such as synthetic voices and AI face swaps, alerting users when suspicious activity is detected to help protect both their communications and personal information.
